Q As an educational leader-manager with a doctor of education degree, you will develop and adopt a reflective perspective on your practice. Such reflection enables you to react decisively yet thoughtfully to situations that arise in your institution. This discussion offers you the opportunity to begin that reflective process by examining your sense of yourself as leader-manager. Prepare for this discussion by completing the self-evaluation of your leadership and management skill in this unit's studies. Once you have completed the self-assessment, use the results to draft an initial post of no more than two to three pages to the courseroom, describing yourself in terms of the survey. Note: The results of the survey itself are private and confidential to you, and are not to be submitted to the courseroom. For this discussion, your post should focus on: • The number and types of activities for which you tended toward leadership. • The number and types of activities for which you tended toward management. • Critical analysis of any item or items that could not be answered due to their ambiguity (for example, you might have assessed yourself one way in one situation and another way in a different situation). • A general sense of where you see your own preferred style.

After reviewing and completion of the Self- Evaluation of leadership and management skills, it can be said that I do have leadership qualities and also the ability to maintain and engage in various areas of problem-solving. I have always been fond of acting as a leader and as I have a good communication and a positive approach towards most of the situations, I was quite sure to get a good level of results while conducting the assessment. While I was performing the assessment, I realized that my interest area was more inclined towards the concepts which involved the qualities of managing a group of people for being able to analyze and constitute goals.
